What Happens When Books Arrive?

“My family loves this program. My 8-year-old twins and 11-year-old get excited for their little 3-year-old brother to get a new book. They take turns reading to him throughout the week. I love doing the activities with my son because I can see his eyes twinkle with new information learned.”— Henry County Parent

Why Your Gift Matters

Early literacy changes the trajectory of a child’s life.

When you Give Books, you help:

• Place high-quality books directly into children’s homes

• Encourage family reading time and early learning habits

• Build confidence before kindergarten begins

• Strengthen the future of our community

Your donation supports book purchases, packaging and postage, and parent newsletter preparation costs for Henry County children and their families.

Every book delivered begins with someone who chose to give.

The Need Is Real

Only about 3 in 10 U.S. 4th graders read at a proficient level. (Source: National Assessment of Educational Progress)

In Georgia — the numbers are similar
— and in some communities, even lower.

Early access to books changes outcomes.
When children grow up surrounded by books, they enter school more confident, more prepared, and more likely to succeed.
